Consigli per il risparmio energetico
You heard it right, as your energy supplier we want you to save energy!
It might seem strange, however there are more people than ever before with energy needs, and we can all play a part in reducing our environmental impact.
Saving energy around your home can be easier than you think. By making a variety of little and slightly larger changes, you can do your bit to preserving our already damaged environment.
Last to leave a room? Switch off the lights! Even turning them off for a few seconds can help reduce your energy consumption.
If you’re still using halogen bulbs, switch them for LED bulbs. They're just as bright and last longer than ordinary bulbs. No brainer really!
Think about turning the thermostat down a degree or two. Check your timers – are you heating an empty home?
Don't leave your appliances on Standby if you don't need to. Switch them off at the socket – we know this won’t work for every appliance or device, but the Energy Saving Trust estimates that this extra usage costs most homes around £80 a year.
Save water! Heating water uses a lot of energy so only boil what you need, take shorter showers and wait until appliances like dishwashers and washing machines are full before using them.
They may seem like trivial changes, but it can make a big difference in the long run.
Installing thermostatic valves or zoned heating can allow you to only heat certain rooms in your home when you need them. Using these methods efficiently could allow you to save over £100 a year.
Make sure to check energy ratings of appliances when you’re buying new or replacing old ones. Appliances with a good energy rating will consume less electricity and therefore help you save energy.
Make sure you’re not losing heat around the home. Installing good loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and upgrading to double or triple glazing can all be big energy savers.
